Willard Ingalls was born in Bellevue Iowa on February 24, 1894. A few days after his 17th birthday in 1911, he joined the US Navy. He served just under four years, being discharged February 19, 1915. Willard went to the Chicago school of veterinary medicine after his career in the Navy graduating in 1917. On February 1, 1945, the B29 known as Calamity Jane crashed due to no.3 engine catching on fire. This was due to either Flak or a enemy aircraft intercepting.
