Donald was born May 24, 1929 in Manteno, IL to Aime and Armella Guimond . Donald was united in marriage to Victoria Grant on February 23, 1952 in La Salle, IL. Donald worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company, East Peoria, IL for 36 years, retiring on January 1, 1991. After his retirement Donald owned a professional photography business, specializing in weddings. He also managed Washington Skateland. He was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs fan and Chicago Bears fan. Donald enjoyed playing golf, fishing, traveling, riding motorcycles, gardening, and reading. His greatest love was his wife of 63 years Victoria.
Donald served in the Far east in the late 1940s and served aboard the following ships:
The USS Pine Island (AV-12), a Currituck Class Seaplane Tender.
The USS Suisun (AVP-53), Barnegat Class Small Seaplane Tender.
And the USS Floyds Bay (AV-40), also a Barnegat Class Small Seaplane Tender.
Donald passed away on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.
